The Oquirrh Temple, yet another beautiful, sacred House of the Lord, will serve approximately 83,000 faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (“Mormons”) in Western Salt Lake Valley. Each temple symbolizes and embodies an increased power on the earth: Worthy Mormons are there literally ‘endowed’ from on high with a spiritual reserve and strength that can come to individuals and families in no other way but through the sacred covenants and the respective promises that the Lord offers in holy temples.

Yesterday, I attended a sealing session in which an elderly gentleman and his two daughters participated. I watched as the Spirit filled him and those of us in attendance who witnessed the sealing of his deceased wife to her parents for time and eternity. I testify that Elijah has come to bring to the earth the power and authority necessary for individuals and worthy family members to be sealed together in relationships that will go far beyond this life.

During the Oquirrh’s public open house, which will take place between Monday, June 1 and Saturday, Aug. (except for Sundays and July 4 and July 24), friends of all faiths are free to walk through a tour and see each of the rooms of the temple prior to the dedication.

The public open house will run from Monday, June 1, through Saturday, Aug. 1, except for Sundays and July 4 and July 24.

Following the open house, the temple will be formally dedicated on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14-16. A total of 12 dedicatory sessions will be held. After it is dedicated, it is only open to those worthy Latter-day Saints who have been baptized and confirmed by priesthood authority held within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
